Focus - To work with all stakeholders to ensure a successful transition to increased classes and pupil numbers.

    So far -

    • Modelled growth and impact on class sizes and funding.
    • Met with LA and governors to discuss increase in pupil numbers following appeals from families moving into new build houses.
    • Agreed to move to five classes in September 2019.
    • Met with teaching staff to consider implications and actions.
    • Initial talks to discuss possibility of a new build one form entry school.
    Actions -
    • Stakeholder meeting to share proposal in more detail and organise a working party.
    • Consider implications for
      • Key Stage 2 curriculum - 3 year plan, residential, etc
      • Composite classes and how to spilt.  Is there any research on this and the impact on achievement and well being?
      • Infrastructure
      • Staffing
      • Budget
      • EYFS/KS1 spilt.  Consider a 3 year group spilt: 2 classes of 10 EYFS, 10 Year 1 and 10 Year 2.  Research models of best practice - Early Excellence to advise.
    • LA/school to work on developing plans for expansion.
    • Building work to make classroom fit for purpose Sept 2019.
    • How to create positive publicity.
